The Naturfreundehaus Klosterlechfeld (Oskar Weinert House) is idyllically located on the Lech River near Scheuring 🌿. It's open on weekends from April to October and offers drinks, snacks, and a cozy atmosphere—ideal for hikers, families, and nature lovers.

Lech Dam 18 near Kaufering is a run-of-river power plant on the Lech River with a capacity of 16.7 MW and a head of 13.3 m. In operation since 1975, it is operated by Uniper Kraftwerke and feeds electricity into the Bayernwerk AG grid.

On December 9, 2004, a Tornado ECR crashed at this location. The 31-year-old pilot, Captain Eik von Zehmen, and his 40-year-old weapons systems officer, Major Konrad Huf, were killed in the crash. The Tornado crashed just 3.5 km southeast of its home airfield, Lagerlechfeld, from which it had previously taken off. The cause of the crash could not be determined.

The Oskar-Weinert-Haus nature lovers' house is idyllically located on the east bank of the Lech in the Westerholz nature reserve and serves as a center for a wide range of activities organized by the Klosterlechfeld nature lovers' association. This location makes it the ideal starting point for hikes, bike tours and nature exploration along the Lech and in the surrounding forests. Facilities and offers: The Oskar-Weinert-Haus offers overnight accommodation and is partially managed, with drinks, sausages, coffee and cake. It has sleeping places and a self-catering kitchen that allows groups to cater for themselves. There is also a children's playground and nearby sports facilities such as outdoor and indoor pools. A visit to the Oskar-Weinert-Haus offers the opportunity to enjoy nature, relax and take part in a wide range of activities.
