The latter is the oldest nucleus of Canelli and is still dominated today by its imposing castle, Castello Gancia. The Sternia is a paved road reserved for pedestrians, a fascinating path that winds along the hill through the medieval part of the town. You will reach Piazza San Leonardo, an enchanting place that houses the Church of San Rocco and the Church of San Leonardo. From here, the road continues its ascent until it reaches the top, at the foot of what is now the magnificent Gancia Castle.
