Beautiful cave, visitable thanks also to the steel stairs that replaced the ruined wooden ones

Near the chapel there is a wonderful natural viewpoint from where you can admire the sea and Monte Falerio (684 m).

This far and no further? No way, the fun only starts at the source, because from here you can hike up to Monte Falerio (684 m), although it is also a steep climb.

There is a natural reservoir of drinking water here. Please take care of it and do not waste it.

The Cesare spring can be reached from Albori along path 303A. Once you reach the source, you can decide to continue on path 303A which leads to Cetara or go up the mountain, following the CAI indications, to reach the Cappella Nuova or Monte Falerio (not recommended in the summer because the thick vegetation tends to cover the paths making the excursion difficult).

At the entrance to the Pietrapiana di Monte Finestra di Cava de' Tirreni cave, located at an altitude of 775 meters above sea level, since 8 May 1988, between the Metelliana and Tramonti valleys, there has been a small statue of the Immaculate Madonna which is called "Madonna della Pace", for the quiet that can be enjoyed in the area and for the extraordinary visible panorama. It was Friar Vittorio Dell'Aglio, a Franciscan, who celebrated the first Eucharistic liturgy that Sunday in May: a prophetic mass, since during the homily the altar server affirmed that Our Lady of Peace would attract many devotees to venerate her, as has come true and the cave has been visited over the years by a multitude of faithful not only from Cava de' Tirreni and Tramonti, but also from the Salerno area, the Nocerino-Sarnese countryside and the Neapolitan area. In this grotto, at dawn in 1950, Carlo Ferrara from Cave, having fallen asleep, dreamed of a crowd of faithful approaching the statue of the Madonna, influencing his faith and devotion, thanks also to the spiritual guidance of his mother Emilia and the Benedictine friar, Father Anselmo Serafin. After a few years, the young Carlo undertook the preparation of the altar at the entrance to the cavity, channeling the fresh spring water into a fountain. Since then, that sacred place has been a destination for the faithful, who come with pilgrimages that take place on April 25th, June 2nd and the first Sunday of September each year. https://tuttosucava.it/storia/religiosita/232-pietrapiana.html
