Monte Generoso is the mountain that dominates the entire Mendrisiotto area and Lake Lugano, it can be reached with beautiful treks that start from Switzerland and Valle Intelvi, or it can also be reached with a panoramic train that leaves from Riva San Vitale, in at the top you can enjoy on the clearest days a wonderful view of the main lakes in the area and also of the skyscrapers of Milan and the Po Valley, as well as of the entire Alpine range.

The access to Monte Generoso, marked in blue and white, begins at Alpe Perostabbio. From here, absolute concentration and sure-footedness as well as a head for heights apply, the path is consistently rated T4.

The small via ferrata with the difficulty K3 corresponds to the difficulty level C is wonderfully developed and is a lot of fun.. at the end of the climb you overcome two ladder passages where you can secure yourself very well. The last ladder then is slightly overhanging. The deep views are sensational and the view of Lake Lugano is a real pleasure.

The alpine variant up to Monte Generoso is the only highlight. The path is great for climbing and very well secured in the very exposed places. For those who find this too airy, there is also the possibility to secure yourself in the upper area. From Monte Generoso over to the Baraghetto there is a via ferrata which in the last section makes your heart beat faster. Of course, sure-footedness and a head for heights are a must here too... alpine experience is highly recommended.
