    Das Château du Wasenbourg hat, wie die meisten Burgen im Elsass, eine wechselhafte Geschichte hinter sich. Sie wurde, wie die meisten Burgen, mehrmals überfallen und erobert, verkauft und verpfändet. Und dann eben auch mal schnell wieder von Goethe besichtigt (Wikipedia). Die Burg ist nur noch eine Burgruine, von der die Außenmauern stehen. Doch von oben aus gibt es einen schönen Ausblick.

    Die Wasenbourg war einmal eine mächtige Burg (siehe Link) von der nur noch dicke Mauern erhalten blieben. Besonders sehenswert sind die noch erhaltenen Fenster im ersten Obergeschoss des Palas.

    Eine Tour zum Chateau de Wasenbourg sollte man kombinieren mit dem Besuch einer oder mehrerer der folgenden Burgruinen:
    Chateau Schoeneck und Wineck
    Chateau Hohenfels (Dambacher Schloss)
    Wachtfelsen und Ruine Klein-Arnsberg
    Ruine Alt-Windstein und Neu-Windstein
    Ruine Luetzelhardt
    So kann man gemütlich an einem Tag mehrere Burgruinen besuchen.
