    Der Torre de Bellaguarda de Altea war Teil einer Festung, deren Ursprung auf die christliche Eroberung im 13. Jahrhundert zurückgeht.
    Derzeit ist der Torre de Bellaguarda ein Wachturm, der an der Stelle wieder aufgebaut wurde, an der vor langer Zeit der ursprüngliche Turm stand. Rund um diesen Turm entstand ein Häuserkern, der heute als Viertel Bellaguarda de Altea bekannt ist.


    Der heutige Turm ist ein ausgezeichneter Aussichtspunkt, da er über Treppen zu seinem oberen Teil führt, von wo aus man einen perfekten Panoramablick auf die Sierra de Bernia und einen großen Teil des nördlichen Altea hat.
