This short trail between Lumbier and Liédena follows a section of the old narrow-gauge railway that linked Sangüesa with Pamplona, initially for the transport of wood extracted from the Pyrenean mountains and later used for the transport of people.

The Larraun and Leitzaran valleys are a true natural sanctuary dotted with farmhouses. Between its leafy slopes of beech and oak trees, a small narrow-gauge railway, “El Plazaola”, wound tirelessly between Pamplona and San Sebastián from the beginning to the middle of the 20th century.
