After an overnight stay at the rustic Trinserhof, we headed straight through the village and past the ski lift in the morning, heading toward the Truna Hut, about 7.5 km and 560 meters higher, on well-paved forest paths. Unfortunately, the Truna Hut was closed, so we only stayed for about five minutes

After an overnight stay at the Hotel Kögele in Axams, we set off this morning at 8:04 a.m. on bus 411, leaving pretty much directly from the hotel doorstep, towards Axamer Lizum. After an overnight stay at the Frankenhof, we took it easy after a hearty breakfast, as the previous day's hike had taken its toll. We had originally planned to hike via the Solsteinhaus to Hochzirl that day, but that was no longer physically feasible, so we opted for a shorter distance.

In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, we parked at a supposedly free parking space at the Olympia Ice Sports Center (but it wasn't between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.; see €25 fine at the end of our tour) and walked about 2.5 km to the Eckbauer cable car. A one-way ticket costs €16.50 per adult, saving us about 500 meters
