Despite a poor weather forecast, we set off for Kieneck today by public transport. We travelled to Thal, then hiked via Atz and the Mareschsteig trail to the Enzianhütte mountain hut. Unfortunately, there was no hoarfrost today, and the paths were quite icy – but with crampons, it was no problem. We soaked up plenty of sunshine, though the wind was unpleasant at times.

Despite the lack of snow, it was a very beautiful winter hike, as you can see in the photos. The mountain hut was operating with limited services, but luckily they had soup and a traditional Austrian snack.

Today we went on a short hike nearby because rain was forecast. From Fiordo di Furore, we climbed many steps again, heading towards San Michele. From the church, we hiked parallel to the coast on good paths with great views, and later on paths that were somewhat overgrown. This path is less frequented
