Alpe d’Huez descent
Back on with the arm warmers and down, down, down. It’s a very smooth surface giving confidence to lean into the corners. Stopped for a few pics of the road graffiti and the views and bought a wee fridge magnet road marker souvenirs in town.

Alpe d’Huez
Got up early and drove to a spot that gave me a warm-up before the climb. Rode conservatively the whole way and had plenty of energy for the final few kms. Definitely the first rider to the top for the day, A bucket list climb ticked off.

After a coffee and coke at the top, cruised back down with photo stops. Took a different route across the mountain side through a lovely wee village.

Col du Chaussy pas les Lacets de Montvernier
Absolutely stunning ascent, beginning with the shoelaces then across the balcony road in the rock face and up through the alpine meadows. No traffic, sunny with a cool breeze, - perfect col climbing.

Rode solo on a windy day, with some punchy wee climbs. Got stamped at the checkpoints and got a small embroidered badge called a roundel.
