This weekend I did a 56Km Mountain-Tour, which took me to Hummelsbütteler Moore, Norderstedt, Oberalsterniederung and back via Wittmoor and along the Alster.

After my weeks cycling from Austria to Italy, I planned to settle in with a 57Km tour of Hamburg Innenstadt with the Fish-market at St Pauli.
The tour took me through Oldsorf Friedhof Torwarts Barmbek, along the canals and the Innenalster towards the Rathhaus, onto Hafen-City, the Elphi and then St Pauli

This 38Km tour of the Millstättersee was a prelude to my tour from Seeboden to the Adriactic coast over the various mountain ranges through Slovenia, which I was so pleased to have completed, as the weather was glorious.
This Seeboden side of the lake had so much to offer from parks lining the lake

This 75km ride was like a double sided coin, it was both extremely enjoyable in many ways and at one time frustrating. I have never travelled to Quickborn Moor, but this was certainly an eye opener with the many amazing views of the birds sitting in the marsh land or small inlets, to the historical train

After a manic week at work, it was refreshing to have a 6am start to a weekend cycle ride, which certainly woke me up. The weather forecast was cloudy with no rain, but within 5 minutes, the first drops starting falling. I decided to ride it out and thankfully after a minute it fizzled out and the waterproof

This 72Km ride ride was really enjoyable. I started early due to the expected high winds that didn’t thankfully materialise. That said it had everything from having a young Fawn eating in Rückhaltebecken along a trail path. Still not Shaw, who was more surprised. I tactfully stopped and walked quietly

This 80km was my first time along the Elbe on the other side traveling through Wilhelmsburg, which was surprising in itself.
The area of Wilhelmsburg has been developed, where trendy flats and houses have now been built either on or around the lakes with a park in full bloom surrounding it.

Today, I started really early due to expected high winds and changed the route of my ride, as was not sure the ferry would operate. I was immediately woken due to the wind in my face and the fresh smell of morning dew.

We were happily surprised how nice Flensburg is, from its nice Harbour with restaurants and cafes that have nice views overlooking the fjord. Surprisingly we even saw an sailing boat from Great Britain leaving the Harbour, not forgetting the odd canoeist.

This 55km ride was really enjoyable. I started it early, as to avoid the hot weather, but it was not necessary as surprisingly the majority of route was shaded.

This was the first ride after the Winter break without the use of a Spinning Bike; and what a change it was. The weather in Hamburg should never surprise anyone, as it briefly rained, the sun popped its head out now and then and boy was it windy.
It was absolutely great to get outside and see the countryside
