Premium Wanderweg P11 Niester Riesen
Wie die anderen Premium Wanderwege super markiert (bis auf eine Stelle, da hab ich mich doch prompt verlaufen),
Es gibt viele Informationstafeln zur Geschichte. Durch den bedeckten Himmel, kamen die tollen Aussichten in die Landschaft nicht so gut zur Geltung.
Trotzdem hat die Wanderung Spaß gemacht, sie war einfach und…

As expected, I highly recommend the Premium Hiking Trail P1! There's a lot to see, it's varied, and informative. The signage is excellent. However, you have to be careful, as it has some unexpected detours. 13 kilometers doesn't seem like much, but with some ups and downs, I'd say it's quite challenging.

The penultimate stage is one of the most beautiful, with many highlights such as the Schauenburg, the small Herbsthaus, the Teufelsmauer, and the Bismarck Tower. In good weather, you can enjoy wonderful views here and at the Hirzsteinblick!

The last stage of the Kassel-Steig is the shortest, but due to several climbs, it shouldn't be underestimated.
The signage is excellent. There are sometimes unexpected hairpin bends, so always pay attention.
For Kassel residents, it might not be so exciting, as many of the sights, such as the Hercules

This stage of the Kassel-Steig is much more scenic than the previous one. The route deviates from the description in Großenritte, but with the excellent route markings this is not a problem.
The view from the castle hill is beautiful when the weather is good. There are small highlights along the route

I didn't really have great expectations for this stage, as it crosses two motorways and several railway lines and often runs through residential areas or districts. The first part is still very beautiful, it goes over fields and small woods to Guntershausen. The section from here to Kirchbauna is particularly

Stage W8 of the Kassel-Steig has almost premium hiking trail quality: the signage is consistently good to sufficient. There is a lot of interesting things to discover about history (Söhrebahn) and nature (Ars Natura). The only downer is that part of the route runs almost directly along the A7 motorway

The 7th stage of the Kassel-Steig can be recommended. You should bring some time for Oberkaufungen: the monastery and the surrounding half-timbered houses are really worth seeing. Several sections of the route offer a great view of the northern Hesse landscape.

This stage of the Kassel-Steig has been my least favorite so far. The markings were not so good, absent or difficult to see (see photos). There were only a few highlights on the route: There are some nice vantage points, but either wind turbines, high-voltage lines or the motorway disturb the picture

Today I decided to hike the W4 of the Kasselsteig. From Rothwesten to Landwehrhagen. A very nice hike but exhausting. There are some climbs towards the end...
