Very quiet area between Swindale and Haweswater. Mostly good paths but let down some difficult areas of deep grass, bracken and heather.

Seat Robert hike from the Wainwright outlying fells

The start and finish was thought shoulder height and tricky bracken. The rest of the walk was good with wide views in a very quiet area of the eastern Lake District.

Swindale to Howes summit, a Wainwright outlying fell.

A long walk in from the parking area by the sign "no parking beyond this point"! The Mosedale path is good but Howes, and Nabs Moor before it, is surrounded by deep tussocky grass and is steep in places and therefore hard on the legs/balance. Can't quite recommend this route…

Outlying Wainwright walk.

Nice walk walk but spoilt by the mistake of following the wall too far and wading through chest high bracken which was wet after overnight rain.

Hike

Another Wainwright's outlying fell route. The walk is over some rough terrain especially from Wasdale Pike. Deer fencing has no obvious way through but can be climbed above Wasdale Head abandoned farm. Generally can't recommend this route.

A Wainwright lesser top ticked of in poor conditions but a nice hike from Torver to Walna Scar and back. Recommended route on good tracks and easy parking just north of Torver.
