For today's International Women's Day, no expense was spared to ensure the lady of the house had the world's best (at least!) apple pie on her plate 🍰🥧. This (as well as the lotus cheesecake for the author of these lines) had to be earned, however, by climbing quite a few meters in the beautiful Stromberg

A delightful after-work hike on the Steinhagen mountain trail in the Teutoburg Forest, starting and ending at the Friedrichshöhe restaurant, which was surprisingly busy during the week :) Sometimes the best things are just 20 minutes from your doorstep.

The continued beautiful weather was perfect for a long bike ride on Sunday 🌞🚴. We followed our usual route through the Holter Forest to the (today crowded) Steinhorst Basin and then through the Westerwieher Schweiz region to the Ems Cycle Route near Rietberg.

Dreamy late-February weather on Friday practically begged for the first gravel ride of the year 🌞🚴, so I kicked things off with one of my "local loops." Stromberg and Ostenfelde are always worth a ride, and of course, all the well-known hotspots were included 💫.

In glorious (and completely unforeseen) weather, a typical standard hike through the Holter Forest, which was unsurprisingly busy today. Of course, a stop at the quaint Mühlcafé was included; this time I had tomato soup with cocoa – an unusual but very tasty combination :)
