A lovely introductory hike to start the season at Schneckenstein in the Vogtland region. The route continued to Mühlleiten and from there back to Muldenberg, where the hike began. The parking lot at Flossgraben is the starting and finishing point of this highly recommended circular hike.

Zwischen Hügeln umgeben im Tal der weisen Elster liegt Elsterberg. Heute noch mal die Stöcke geschnappt und das Herbstgold genossen. Laufhighlights Marktplatz, Laurentiuskirche und das Pöhl.

Today, for the first time in a long time, I took out my Nordic walking poles and put on my running shoes. I took a short walk around the village, enjoying the wonderful views of the western Vogelsberg Mountains.

Today we took another short walk between Muldenhammer and Hammerbrücke. The small Riss Falls and the source of the red and white Göltzsch rivers are impressive.

A stay in the Vogtland region naturally includes a visit to one of the beautiful spa towns in Franzensbad, Karlovy Vary, or Marienbad in the Czech Republic. It's impressive how the town has developed over the past 35 years. The spa park and promenade, as well as the pedestrian zone, are particularly beautiful.

A short hike in the thankfully cooler Vogtland region.
Starting in Hammerbrücke, where we are currently on vacation, we headed to the old Muldenberg rafting ditch. We passed the Muldenberg dam and reached the beautiful, shady Sauteich pond.

Today I'm traveling at the other end of Germany. In the beautiful Volcanic Eifel region, near Maria Laach Abbey, the circular hiking trail can be enjoyed at any time, even in less than ideal weather.
