The 648 m high Hochsteinchen in the Hunsrück has been crowned by an observation tower for over 130 years. Unfortunately, the tour there runs along wide farm tracks and offers only a limited forest experience. From the top you have a good view to the north (Hunsrück) and east (Taunus).

On one of the last days of October summer I went abroad with the Deutschlandticket (yes, that works!). The French town of Wissembourg is really very pretty and definitely worth a trip. Many beautiful old half-timbered houses, the remains of the city wall are well maintained. The Lauter splashes comfortably

The town of Vianden in Luxembourg is definitely worth a trip: beautifully situated on the Our river, an imposing castle perched on a rock (visit recommended!), the only chairlift in the country gives it an almost alpine feeling. The wall of the nearby reservoir is painted with faces. And lots of nature around it.

I wanted to try out the new cycle path over in Hesse from Rüdesheim to Lorch this season. Yes, it's okay if you enjoy cycling right next to a main road... I prefer the left side of the Rhine with more nature. What speaks for the right side, however, is that Assmannshausen clearly has more to offer in

Today we drove the small train circuit from Bad Kreuznach, without any photos. What was interesting was that the apple and pear trees were still full at the top, but in the lowlands they had already been harvested.

The southern half of the Bergstrasse Cycle Path is slightly more attractive than the northern half, both in terms of scenery and the highlights along the route. A short walk that can be done near Emmelshausen between two Hunsrückbahn trains. The real attraction was the journey from Boppard over the steep section to Emmelshausen and back (the return journey is still attached to the tour).
