How lucky we were yesterday. Instead of the predicted overcast skies, we had brilliant sunshine. 🌞🌞🌞 And these wonderful views. 👀 This stage of the Rheinsteig is one of the most beautiful of the entire route. We were in the right place at the right time. Simply perfect! 🍀

Day 2. We were awakened by the sound of heavy rain. After a delicious breakfast, there was much discussion about whether we should start walking, hike at all, or wait an hour in the common room while another shower began.

2 Tage - Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Stadtmauer Besichtigung
Einfach ein Muss bei einem Besuch in Rothenburg ob der Tauber! Die Stadtmauern umfasst viele erhaltene Torhäuser und Türme sowie einen überdachten Gang oberhalb der Mauer.

2 Tage- Rothenburg ob der Tauber, W2 -Zu den Rothenburger Mühlen (11,7 km)
Der Rundweg führt zunächst durch die historische Altstadt, zur Rossmühle und dem Spitalhof. Außerhalb der Stadt geht es hinab ins Tauber- und Schandtaubertal. Der Weg folgt dem Rothenburger Taubermühlenweg bis Detwang, vorbei an insgesamt 15 Mühlen. Zurück, geht es wieder hinauf zur Stadt.

The hike, a combination of town and hiking trail, is punctuated by many defunct but still beautiful mills. Due to the sunny 34°C, we didn't walk all the way to Detwang, but instead took a shortcut over the wobbly bridge and climbed a short but steep path up to the castle garden.

That was a wonderful short hike to get our fitness back on track. We started in the fog at a cool 8 degrees Celsius. We ended the day in bright sunshine at the ice cream parlor in DüW. It was a perfect start to the day.
