I actually prefer doing full loops. But the weather was terrible, and the gang of pensioners only managed a maximum of 6km. Still, it was a nice loop with little climb.

The parking lot is located directly on the B258, right in the forest. There are plenty of shady parking spots.
After just a few hundred meters, you'll leave all the noise of civilization behind, hearing only your own thoughts and the monotonous sound of your own footsteps.
A not-too-long hike for an escape from everyday life.

The mountain wall is truly impressive! There are countless information panels about the different eras the wall reveals. It's definitely worth a look if you're in the Volcanic Eifel.

The tour was actually planned differently. Since my husband (after his hip replacement, he can only manage a maximum of 5km) really wanted to come along, I chose the easy-to-access trails, with only a few short, rooty/singletrack trails here and there.
At Maria Laach Abbey, there's actually coffee and beer at reasonable prices.
