We noticed on this tour that the Rennsteig between Großer Inselberg and Oberhof is very popular. In addition to the hikers, hiking groups, and touring cyclists (we were among them) who were traveling this section, we were also involuntarily part of a cycling event that started in the Oberhof Biathlon
