A short evening stroll through the national park. We were supposed to see lynx and wolves, but instead we saw wild horses, Heck cattle, and plenty of glowworms, also known colloquially as fireflies.

The river trail from Bayerisch Eisenstein to Zwiesel has a good chance of being named Hiking Trail of the Year 2025. Anyone who enjoys singletrack and tree-root paths will love this trail. It's just a shame that, for some inexplicable reason, they cut down a kilometer of trees and built an ugly gravel

The small path in the Helenental Valley, one of Austria's most famous and beautiful walking trails, where Beethoven once strolled in search of new inspiration. At 35 degrees Celsius, we felt more sweaty than inspired, but under the tall trees and on the banks of the Schwechat River, it was bearable.

Finally got out into nature for a bit. It felt really good. After the rain, the first mushrooms are coming out, and the wasp in photo 11 was something quite unusual. It was a club-horned sawfly (never heard of it before). I can't say whether it was an alder or poplar wasp. Both are on the Red List, and
