Cross-country skiing on the groomed Tana Varanger trail to Skihytta, perfect because of Easter. From there up to the mountain.... The big loop had also been groomed the day before.
With mountain skis it was no problem to cross the blocked trail...rather sparse markings above Skihytta!

From the former Taiga Hotel, now a guesthouse with ski LL on a perfectly groomed trail (forest nature trail) via frøkostkoja to the PRIVATE (not accessible) malbaka hut on the lake.
The screenshot shows the connecting route to the Vestkoiaroute! A shorter route via the lake is also possible with a bearing

After a fresh snowfall there are many traces of the rich wildlife. Hawk owls grabbing mice deep under the snow, traces of courting black grouses "capercaillies" and ptarmigans.
The originals are stuffed in the fireplace room in the Taigaguesthouse. Good to travel with trackers and ornithologists...

Small ski LL round....For relatives of ornithologists as a pastime. SNOW on the north side is less blown, i.e. skiing is possible. The Tana Varanger trail starts 23 minutes drive from the Birdwatcher cabins on Ekkerøy....
