Paddel-Tour mit den Kindern auf der Lahn – Tag 1
Kurz vor Ende der Sommerferien sind die Kinder und ich noch zwei Tage auf der Lahn paddeln. Am ersten Tag geht es 24 km von der Schleuse Oberbiel bis zum Campingplatz in Odersbach – u. a. durch Deutschlands einzigen Schiffstunnel mit anschließender Doppelschleuse.

I'm using the last two days of the first week of summer vacation to go on a bike ride with the kids. Our destination today is the campsite at Brückenkopfpark in Jülich. Since the "eldest" was loaned an e-bike by a dear friend, she and I are traveling with all the luggage. The older brother is allowed

The Propsteier Forest Association (propsteierwald.com) offered a guided tour through the former military site today with experienced forest guides Thomas Niemann and Oliver Bittner, which I participated in with my son. Interesting insights into a forest area that has remained untouched for decades!

We saw the tour in a book with short hikes around Aachen. It was just the right way to take advantage of the really nice weather on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of small paths, some of them pretty muddy, but with lovely, wide views along the way. It was worth it!

We did the pleasure tour 12 from Hiking in East Belgium (komoot.com/de-de/tour/1919965406). Our eldest had returned from a week-long trip to the USA the day before, so the tour was good for his jet lag. ;-)

After an interesting journey along the mountain road to the Rosemi Alm, we had a lovely hike via the Friedenskircherl to the Stoderzinken and back again. We let Sebastian go on the via ferrata at the Friedenskircherl (komoot.com/de-de/tour/1751210669). Finally, we stopped off at the Rosemi Alm: very tasty!

All in all, a very nice hike to the Stoderzinken. While my two old 😂 and my sister went back to the Friedenskirche and along the summit path, I did the via ferrata alone.

On the second day, we also spent a lot of time on bike paths and back roads in beautiful weather. This time, we made a detour via Blausteinsee. We finished off with the obligatory ice cream at our favorite ice cream parlor. 😋
