Today the whole family went to the Königsstuhl. The new platform is really worth a visit. The route includes a few steep climbs that could frustrate inexperienced hobby cyclists without a motor (or unmotivated sons). All in all, though, the routes are well developed and really doable. The two pirates (me and my younger son) decided to cycle to the Störtebeker Festival so we could eat more there 😅. My wife and older son drove the car, which we loaded the bikes onto for the return trip.
I had already cycled the route alone last year, but I had forgotten that it wasn't really suitable

A short bike ride with the family to pick up some holiday reading material. The children weren't so keen at first, but they were persuaded to have an ice cream.
A lovely short stretch along the Spyker See, via Klein Mukran to the centre of Sassnitz. After a short break with an ice cream, we headed back again.

A truly idyllic bike tour with Mandy across meadows and fields in the Pleistal. Even if we, as valley residents, are faced with the initially unavoidable climb over the Siebengebirge to get to the actual starting point in Uthweiler, the route increases in both quality and intensity.
