Started in Brüggen in glorious weather. The way to Born was simply fantastic, just like the way back to Brüggen. From there through the nature reserve Brachter Wald, former ammunition depot where we saw some fallow deer, which is so calming. Over the "Weißen Stein" along the border and further along the Schwalm back to Brüggen.

This tour for the second time, because we had to break off after 8 km 10 days ago. This time Xanten without cathedral and mill but only as a start and end point. In Bislich we took a few detours to see a beautiful stork's nest (Storchennest Ronduit)
Many take the direct route from Rees to Bislich, I find

We started at just 7°, quite uncomfortable. After 10 km first warm up with an espresso, many thanks Franka from espa. By the way, for lovers of Italian cuisine, only to be recommended.
Continue across open fields to Geldern, stopped here for a currywurst and to warm up. Komoot left

Tour guide Wolfgang showed us beautiful unknown paths in a well-known area, very quiet and varied. The icing on the cake was then, at the end, mulled wine and peppers that his wife Irene deposited at the destination. All around a wonderful eventful day.

The first kilometers we had to struggle with a strong headwind, and then unfortunately along the road (but good bike path) from km 11 then beautifully calm and without wind. Finally, Wolfgang spoiled us with hot and cold drinks on his terrace.

Nice leisurely tour. The Café Kornblume is recommended, friendly service and the potato pancakes were good.
200 mtr. further on is the cottage "Der Düvel" where the Lower Rhine Expressionists Nauen, Macke and Campenden met 100 years ago. Helmuth Macke was a cousin of the painter August Macke.

How, you are already thinking ahead: "Niederrhein Biker Tour 2021/2" I would like to really "survive" the years 2020 and 2021 ... (CORONA pandemic). The worst thing for me was the curfew and maybe everything will come back ... hopefully NOT !!!
