From the Forellenteich car park, the circular tour went through the Harz winter landscape to the Hahnenkleeklippe. This is a great hiking destination in any season and weather conditions, as it offers a great view of the valley on both sides.

From the parking lot at the Herzberger Pond we went straight up to the Sparkassenhütte hiking hut (Schauinsland refuge on Ramsek).
