In good weather, especially without rain, the tour is easy to walk.
In rainy weather, some steep sections and especially the narrow paths could be difficult.
Otherwise, it's a varied route that starts off leisurely and becomes a bit strenuous from Lac de Retournemer onwards.

The tour starts off really well, mostly on bike paths, but it's only when you get to the road to the pass and later also on the road to Lossburg that it gets quite strenuous. Overall, you pass through lovely towns: Breisach, Ihringen, Buchholz, Elzach, Hausach, Schiltach, Wolfach, Alpirsbach, Lossburg

Did it at the end of April on a gravel bike; all sections went well, and you get out of Karlsruhe quickly.
The tour is mostly flat with beautiful views of the Black Forest. However, there are long stretches on bike paths along the edge of the B3 or other roads, which can be annoying in heavy traffic.

Leisurely Sunday hike over the Leopoldstein to the Königstuhl and back via a section of the forest adventure trail, the Kohlhof and the Posselslust tower to the Drei Eichen hiking car park. Sometimes it goes over narrow paths with roots, otherwise gravel paths and the meadow at Kohlhof.

The first half is easy to ride, then it becomes rockier and quite steep towards the end.
The friendly hospitality and delicious food at the mountain pasture make up for the effort.
