An autumn hike around Schöna. In the forest, there were a few fallen trees to climb over or under, and it was a bit slippery in places. But it was a good hike and fun. 😊
A particular highlight was the path to the waterfall with several stream crossings through the Gelobtbach valley. 😃

Inspired by this year's calendar "Hidden in the Elbe Sandstone" by the IG Staircase and Hiking Friends, I took advantage of the beautiful weather 🌤 for a short hike to the Steinerne Rinne and Paulinengrund.

Together with 159 other hiking friends, we set off through forests and fields for the 25th Left Elbe Valley Tour. 😊
We had opted for the 29 km route, but it was actually a bit shorter (23 km). 👍
The local markings in the first section didn't quite match the map or were unclear regarding checkpoint 2

I started relatively early in Villach so as not to arrive too late in Gemona. I skipped the train ride to Tarvisio that Eurobike had booked. Shortly after the border crossing 🇦🇹-🇮🇹, I cycled instead along the former railway line through several tunnels (22) and over many bridges with great views

Stage 3 was a water fight in the constant rain. It started with a little rain and then gradually got heavier 🌧. I could really feel the water running through my feet, especially on the fast descent to Mallnitz. But I had to go for it.

I continued at a leisurely pace, and arrived a little earlier than planned, as rain was forecast for the afternoon. The climb over the Lueg Pass was manageable by pushing. 😉 There wasn't much traffic on the following federal highway. Along the way, I made a detour to the Paul Ausserleitner Ski Jump

After a short walking tour of the city, I set off leisurely through beautiful Salzburg. I continued through the Salzach Valley, stopping briefly in Hallein, to my destination, Golling. After checking into the hotel and taking a shower, I headed back to the Golling Waterfall. It was worth it and a beautiful day. 😊
