We took advantage of the nice weather again and after the jogging tour we went on a short hike to the Scharfenstein castle ruins and through the autumnal vineyards in Kiedrich/Rheingau.

In the beginning you need a little patience and then some practice to be able to observe the chamois in the wild. Good binoculars are essential.
The patience finally paid off and under the guidance of a local guide, several chamois could be observed intensively. A beautiful nature experience.

Wonderful in the Thuringian Forest, with great views and an icy rock face with a grotto. For the way back, take the bus or walk up the comfortable path to the Hohe Sonne parallel to the rock path.
