6.Fontane Wandermarathon
September ist Fontane Wandermarathon Zeit, diesmal der 6. Es ging diesmal in das Rhinluch. Das Wetter war optimal, kein Regen, dafür ab und zu Sonne. Nette Mitwanderer kennengelernt, viele Kraniche gesehen . Die Veranstaltung wie immer mit ganz viel Herzblut organisiert, schön war es.

Wanderung Kyritz- Ruppiner Heide
Die Heide blüht. Vor 2 Jahren sind wir beim Fontane Wandermarathon hier das erste Mal gewandert. Unser geplantes Zug entfiel, also 1 h in Oranienburg verbracht und später gestartet.Der Bus ab Neuruppin fährt nur alle 2 Stunden, somit die Tour andersrum gewandert. Wir starten in Fretzdorf und wandern in Richtung Heide und dann liegt das Lila Meer vor uns. Traumhaft. Die Wege sind manchmal sehr sandig und nicht zu viele Menschen unterwegs. Ab Gühlen Glienicke fahren wir mit dem Bus nach Neuruppin und im überfüllten Zug geht es Richtung Heimat.

It's home, the last of 20 legs. It's rolling beautifully until Eiche. Then the chaos of Berlin awaits us. Close your eyes and get through it.
A wonderful vacation is sadly coming to an end.

We continue toward home. Many kilometers along the main road. A strong headwind and some elevation gain accompany us. The last 15 kilometers, actually the most beautiful, are ridden in pouring rain, so no photos. The rain doesn't stop until after 7 p.m., and we explore Buckow.

Today we're off to Osno Lubuskie for two nights, to relax in a wellness hotel.
We enjoy the Oder-Neisse Cycle Path to Kietz. From Küstrin, we take the R1, except there's no cycle path. This means 13 km of cycling along a busy country road, before turning onto a quieter road. A rain shower catches us

We continue along the Oder-Neisse Cycle Path. It's rolling so wonderfully. The headwind dies down after 10 km, and it's a beautiful ride. Balm for the eyes and the soul. We make a brief stop at the Europa Bridge and have a quick snack at the Kulturhafen (Culture Harbor). It's not far now to our destination

We set off in light rain, which thankfully soon stops. We head uphill and downhill through Penkun and past Mescherin, where we reach the Oder River. Towards Schwedt, we see a dark wall looming. We head home along the Oder-Neisse cycle path. We start in drizzle, which turns into a heavy downpour after a few minutes. First, we take shelter. Then we continue on, beautiful, but the forest paths are full of puddles and our bikes look terrible. We continue along the Randow narrow-gauge railway embankment

Today, the final leg of the Mecklenburg Lake District Cycle Route, back to Ueckermünde. We briefly reconsider our plans, bypassing Anklam for a few kilometers, and head back to the island of Usedom to take the electric bike ferry from Karnin to Kamp.
