On the third day we drove from Wetzlar via Weilburg, Limburg, Diez, Geilnau, Scheidt, Oberhof to Nassau. In Nassau we stayed at the Hotel Lahnromantik. A beautiful, old half-timbered hotel, rustic and quaint. We liked it a lot.
In Nassau we stopped off at the town hall in the evening.

On the second day we drove about 100 km from Biedenkopf via Marburg and Gießen to Wetzlar. There we stayed overnight at the Wetzlarer Hof. The route is particularly beautiful on this stretch. Hardly any paths on busy roads and very varied.

1st stage of the Lahn cycle path. We took the HLB RE 93 train from Siegen main station to Hilchenbach Lützel.
From Lützeln, take the iron road to the Lahnquelle. There are a few meters of elevation to overcome here.
At the Lahnquelle forester's house, you can eat and drink warm food outside in summer.

Family hike with children. Park at the valley station of the Söllereckbahn. You take the cable car up. From the mountain station you walk down a road into the valley. There are four stations along the way where the children can play with the wooden ball track. A wooden ball costs 3 euros (2024). You

Easy hike with our children. Initially on a wide gravel path through the meadows. Later turn left onto a small trail. It leads through the forest towards the waterfall. At the waterfall there is a small bench to sit on and have a snack. We went back the same way because rain was forecast.

On Sunday, our last day, after breakfast we went from Nassau to Koblenz to catch the train. From there we began our journey home.
