On our 4th stage we changed the original route, which leads over some peaks of the Nagelfluhkette before descending to Gunzesried: due to the heat and condition 😎😂.

It could always be worse! If we thought yesterday that the tour would be tough and borderline for us, today we really were at our limits. The stage had it all! A few additional loops ended up making it a little longer than originally planned. We were rewarded with great views, albeit sometimes a bit hazy in the distance. There where it was particularly steep uphill (Brüggelekopf) beautiful but difficult forest paths with strong roots

Pleasant start to our Maximiliansweg hikes:
Practically no gradient, the path is mostly at least halfway shaded - except for a section along the Bregenzer Ach - and often separated from the many cyclists who are also on the road here. In the end, however, we were very happy to have finally reached today

The Kinzig Valley Cycle Path:
Even the third time it's at least as beautiful as the first time. Wonderful early summer weather played a not inconsiderable part in this - even if one or the other got a little (too) warm around noon 🌞🥵🤣.

Part one of our sightseeing tour in Marburg, which took us from the train station to the Lahnberge.

The Burgwaldpfad leads from the Elisabethkirche in Marburg for more than 50km in a predominantly northward direction through the largest contiguous (castle) forest area in Hesse to Frankenberg. The route is well signposted so that you can set off without hesitation even without modern navigation aids

After the Schächerbach tour (and return to the Stadthallen parking lot) we still had enough time for a short tour to the castle and through the old town of Homberg - starting from the same starting point.
Most impressive of all was certainly the ancient and gigantic linden tree on the grounds of the castle

The 5th stage started in Sonthofen. We walked to Oberschwend, where our taxi picked us up and took us to the next accommodation in Pfronten. Another stage with a lot of altitude and a long rocky descent from the Steinpasssattel am Spieser to the main road. Again we had to struggle with the heat/humidity
