The starting/finishing point is the trailhead for Bergischer Streifzug 9 "Fuhrmannsweg" in Marienheide. There is usually ample parking available nearby. The Marienheide train station and park-and-ride lot are also just a few hundred meters away, so arriving by bus and train is no problem either. 🤓

It's truly shocking and overwhelming how the floods raged through the Ahr Valley in 2021. In Altenahr, the starting and finishing point, the consequences are still clearly visible. The area around Altenahr is incredibly beautiful, and the hike takes you through diverse landscapes and woodlands, interspersed

It's late summer. You can tell. However, today was T-shirt weather. So let's get out there. Today's start/finish was at the Aggertalhöhle cave in Ründeroth. A beautiful hike in/on the Ründeroth "suburbs," I think. 🤭
A visit to the Haldy Tower was a must, of course.

I was in the area last weekend. This great route was recommended to me. I didn't regret it. The loop was absolutely beautiful. The detour to the summit cross along the way is worth it. However, that section is missing from the track here because I "took it with me" on another day.

Today was more of a mud bath. I thought the Annaberg Tunnel was absolutely beautiful, though. I had imagined it would be a bit longer. You're through it in just a few minutes 🙈 The Kottenforst forest is quite lovely, but the paths were a bit too straight for my taste. All in all, it's quite nice if you're in the area 💪🏻
