A long day in a nutshell... The night was quiet and beautiful. The first 25km were downhill and uncomplicated. Then we took the wrong side of the highway and ended up in a dead end, where we went through a dry river underpass. Then there was a huge amount of gravel and we had to drive a bit on the highway

We left LA by subway. We didn't bother with the city traffic. And everything is so huge here that it would have taken two days to get out otherwise. We set off by bike from San Bernardino.
