A very nice route up to Plettenberg, then a farce. Often on the B236 under the worst conditions. The edge of the road has deep holes; a solid center line - therefore hardly any overtaking opportunities for cars and trucks ... Lots of potential for conflict 🥴

Very nice MTB tour, but I would advise against doing it on gravel. There is something for everyone, but I wouldn't recommend the route in winter. And it's not for people with a fear of ticks either, as the grass on the trails is quite high in places. But otherwise a really dream tour with lots of views.

The end of the trip was Trieste. My tip is to plan a stay here. We hardly saw anything of the city, but _what_ we did see looked promising. A Flixbus goes from Trieste to Venice Airport (Marco Polo). The departure terminal is a bit unclear and the buses do not leave from the bus platform outside, but _in_ the hall.

The Zadar pier is not within walking distance of the old town. The quickest and most comfortable solution is to take a taxi. The price (2024) is agreed in advance at €20... cheaper than the transfer bus if you share a taxi with four people.

Dubrovnik's old town is a real tourist magnet. Crowded, expensive and somehow similar to a visit to Venice. A visit to the city walls is worthwhile - but it costs €35 (2024)... but it is in great shape. The best way to get to the old town from the pier is by bus, the routes can be found online. You should
