That was a great tour, where the flysch is very well developed. This location is not called a "Geoheritage Site" without reason. You can find more information here: https://iugs-geoheritage.org/geoheritage_sites/cretaceous-paleogene-stratigraphic-section-of-zumaia/ Here, among other things, the famous Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary is exposed, which marks the end of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. This was due to the Chicxulub meteorite impact. The border shows increased Iridium values. An important note, if you also want to walk this tour, you should definitely inquire beforehand whether it is low tide: https://de.tideschart.com/Spain/Basque-Country/Provincia-de-Guipuzcoa/Zumaia/ We walked this tour with our Miniaussi, it wasn't easy, we had to carry it at one point or another, so it's better to walk without a dog. The path on the beach mostly consists of larger boulders 🪨, so it takes a lot longer...
Because of the tides better go the other way around! When the water is running up, the last cliffs are difficult or tw. washed over.
