The state-recognized resort of Hirschberg is picturesquely embedded in the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park, the largest contiguous forest area in North Rhine-Westphalia. Hirschberg, the former hunting seat of the Cologne electors, is 450 m above sea level.
The townscape is characterized by numerous listed half-timbered houses. With its location directly on the Sauerland Forest Route, the place not only invites hikers to linger and take a look at the numerous sights.

...Beautiful forest paths, lots of variety for the eye...the Bilstein rock and the town of Hirschberg are also worth seeing as a highlight.

Today we changed the plan spontaneously 🤣. The circuit around Hirschberg was my alternative to the Golddorf route in Bödefeld. A really nice, easy to walk route with still healthy trees.
