Today we went to Germerode, walked the panoramic path and what can I say, it was fun! The path lives up to its name and you have one beautiful view after another, we also had really nice weather, great😁. You spend a lot of time on field paths and admittedly a lot on tarmac, but the path is still varied …

In glorious sunshine, we admired the poppies in bloom in Germerode. It was a lovely hike. We also walked to the wildlife enclosure, where there's a lovely, large children's playground. It was fun.

Poppy blossom in 2025, I didn't want to miss that.

I'd already heard in the media that the poppy blossoms this year were supposed to be particularly beautiful and magnificent. I can now definitely confirm that.
It's definitely worth a visit. However, I recommend arriving very early, because otherwise it's simply too crowded.

I took advantage of the beautiful day today to see the poppies in bloom in Germerode. So, I drove to the Meißner Mountain Wildlife Park and found a nice, shady parking space.

From there, take the Germerode Panorama Trail to the poppy fields.

You can't miss them, as they're currently very busy :-)

Unfortunately, we arrived a week too late for the poppy blossom. We took the panoramic path to Rüppels Hofcafe where we ate a really delicious poppy seed waffle with strawberries 🍓 and ice cream with whipped cream.
