In glorious weather, we set off from Rolandseck, first crossing the Berschberg and Wilhelmsberg mountains. The route alternated between quiet forest passages and open field paths, offering beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The highlight of the tour was the Rodderberg – an extinct volcano – with its impressive crater rim and sweeping views over the Rhine Valley.

Today we took a tour around Rodderberg, the volcano south of Bonn. Here the southernmost municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia, Wachtberg, meets the state border of RLP. On the Rodderberg you have wonderful views of the Rhine and the Siebengebirge.
