A short walk around Lake Illmensee before the rain comes...

Parked at the free parking lot at the Illmensee outdoor pool.
The nature trail is nice to walk and offers views of the lake (mostly fishing spots, not yet occupied at the moment).

There are also a few information boards with information about the lake.

Nice walk to see the irises in bloom. Despite the holiday, there weren't too many people around. For us, this was the maximum distance our health would allow, but we enjoyed every meter.

Today there were surprisingly few people out and about, and that on a Sunday in glorious weather. In June we could only go around the lake by taking a detour, as the path along the shore was flooded. This created huge fields of reeds, some of them over 3 metres high and more. The path is still very wet but …

It was foggy at first. Halfway through the walk the sun came out.
