The church and the neighboring former castle of the Lords of Palatinate Palace formerly formed a uniform fortification. Since the new building in 1707/10, only two embrasures on the north side of the tower have reminded of the military character of the church, from the castle the 13th century keep has been preserved near the south side of the church. The furnishings of the church date mainly from the time the nave was built (pulpit 1707, altars 1718), but numerous wooden figures from the previous building were also adopted in the new building.
