Vandring
The Pfungstädter Moor nature reserve consists of three parts and is around 103 hectares in size. Visitors can explore the densely overgrown area on the designated paths.
The Pfungstädter Moor was created by diverting the Neckar bed in Roman times. The aim was to straighten the Neckar and thus optimize navigability. Peat and reeds have been commercially mined in the area throughout history.
The Pfungstädter Moor has been a nature reserve since 1955.

In the middle of the vast fields in the Ried, a marshy natural jewel is meandering through the area. One is amazed when one can then read that these are remnants of the former Neckar River, which today flows much further south into the Rhine ...
