In the spring temple of the Marienquelle, various healing waters that spring from a depth of between 6 and 10 meters are served. According to medicinal water analysis, these are characterized by a high proportion of natural carbonic acid and high levels of iron, sodium, sulphate, chloride and hydrogen carbonate. Used as a drinking cure, the healing waters have a positive effect on the gastrointestinal system, the kidneys and the urinary tract, fill up the mineral deposits in the body and support the metabolism.

Today's source house "Marienquelle" was built in 1930 as a fountain temple in Bad Elster. On the roof, visible from afar, is the golden statue of a jug-bearer.
