Vandring
Managed by English Heritage, the ruins of Wenlock Priory are very impressive with incredible carvings that are well preserved. An Anglo-Saxon monastery originally sat here but it was refounded as a Norman priory in the 13th century.
Large sections of the chapter house are still standing today and this is where the most exquisite carvings are. The gardens are carefully maintained and contain a 12th-century lavabo, a type of sink and exceptionally rarely found today.
Entry is free for members and has a charge for non-members. You may need to book in advance.
