The Rossplatz open space was created between 1953 and 1955 in connection with the development of the ring. It is considered exemplary of the architecture and building art of the still young GDR.

Vandring
The development on Roßplatz is a typical example of GDR architecture in the style of socialist classicism, also known as the "confectionery style". After the war, representative buildings were built, especially in the district capitals, with an emphasis on monumental classicist forms. In the early 1960s, the style was then replaced by socialist modernism.
