Vandring

One of the places not to be missed when you are in Andra do Heroísmo. It is a beautiful statue of Vasco da Gama walking up verses of Camões, with the beautiful Church of Misericórdia
in the background. Mandatory stopping point.

Vandring

In 1499, when Vasco da Gama's fleet was returning from the first sea voyage to India on its way to Lisbon, he approached the Azores due to favorable winds and, as his brother Paulo da Gama's health continued to deteriorate, he decided to dock on the island of Terceira.
