Vandring

A fortified church surrounded by walls, first documented on July 24, 1265. The current church essentially dates from 1484. The weathervane, at exactly 287 meters above sea level, is the highest point in the Großsachsenheim district.

Vandring

The Protestant town church of Großsachsenheim bears a rather unusual name: St. Fabian and Sebastian. It was first mentioned in 1265, though this was a smaller predecessor building. The church has been rebuilt several times, adapting to the prevailing tastes of the time, but it has always been a fortified church, as is evident from the outer wall.

Inside, one can find several monuments to the local lords – the Lords of Sachsenheim.
