The Grenzpad is a beautiful nature trail right on the Germany/Netherlands border and is quite easy to drive on. Original, barren heathlands line the path and give a little insight into what the area must have looked like in the past. Along the "Pad" you will always find boundary stones made of sandstone and the so-called "Commiezenhutten". These huts were built partly below and partly above ground and served as a shelter for the customs officers and as an observation post to ambush the numerous smugglers.
A recommendable beautiful bike route.

E-bikers all the way north and south of Nordhorn is a beautiful, quiet landscape. Location and guild house also worthwhile. If you like, you can continue further south past Gronau

The border path that stretches from Nordhorn to Lage is really beautiful!
That's why we drove it the second time this year.
