Cykling
A Prussian Rhine kilometer measuring point.
The "Central Commission for Shipping on the Rhine" ordered in 1864
for the first time an overall measurement of the Rhine current.
It started in the middle of the Rhine bridge to Basel
and should end at the mouth of the Rhine.
Then every 10,000 meters were on both sides
of the current measuring stones - so-called Myriameter stones
(after myria, Greek = ten thousand).
Note: the same stone is on the opposite side of the Rhine.
