After crossing the river, this section of the trail enters a peaceful forest of spruce and fir, with just enough undergrowth to keep you alert. The path is faint but still navigable, winding through mossy clearings that offer glimpses of the peaks ahead. As the trees start to thin out, Hector Lake comes into view. The calm, turquoise water framed by the breathtaking Waputik skyline makes it a wonderful spot to spend a few hours soaking up the scenery.
