The Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Encarnação is the main church of Vila Real de Santo António, built in the 18th century in the Pombaline style. The interior features beautiful statues and stained glass windows, including works by the renowned sculptor Machado de Castro. The church is centrally located on the Praça Marquês de Pombal and is an important historical monument in the city.

Vila Real de Santo António is a municipality and town in the Faro District of Portugal. It lies on the Gulf of Cádiz, which is part of the Atlantic Ocean, and on the right bank of the Guadiana River, whose lower reaches form the border between Portugal and Spain. Ayamonte, in Spain, lies on the opposite bank of the Guadiana River.
